The National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) has granted conditional approval for a coal mining project on 80.77 hectares of forest land in Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district. The proposed site lies within a tiger corridor that connects key wildlife habitats and supports tiger movement across the landscape.
The approval includes measures such as a wildlife management plan and ecological monitoring to reduce environmental impacts. While authorities have emphasized mitigation efforts, conservationists continue to highlight the importance of protecting wildlife corridors for long-term biodiversity conservation.
