Supreme Court Refuses to Allow Any Activity in Aravalli Until Definition is Clarified

The Supreme Court of India has stated that no activity will be permitted in the Aravalli Range until experts finalize a clear definition of the range.

The Court refused to allow the Haryana government to submit its revised jungle safari project plan, stating that ecological integrity must be protected first.

The bench observed that the Aravalli range spans multiple states and cannot be treated as a regional issue. Mining activities also remain restricted until further clarification by expert committees.

The matter will be considered along with the main case concerning the definition and protection of the Aravalli hills.
